SIO Visualization Center Director helps teach a realtime lesson in Chicago

Geoscientists from Scripps and visualization specialists from met in San Francisco’s Moscone center for the 2004 AGU conference. There was a booth showcasing the Ridge 2000 program as well as booths for SIO and IGPP. 3-D visualizations were showcased this year on new 30” Apple HD Cinema displays. There were also a large number of posters with topics ranging from the geosciences to advanced visualization systems.

Many graduate students and scientists took advantage of the poster sessions to showcase their latest projects in various fields. Some people were fortunate enough to have some of the 30” displays to show various objects such as 3D visualizations or movies and animations.
