Visualization of the magnitude 7.6 Pakistan Earthquake (10/08/2005) that includes: the location of the mainshock (red diamond), large magnitude aftershocks (orange diamonds) and historical seismicity (points; ~870,000 earthquakes). This earthquake occurred in a region of high seismic activity due to the tectonic movement between the Indian & Eurasian plates (the Indian plate is currently subducting beneath the Eurasian plate).
